Definition

When an organizational node is confronted with irrefutable evidence of a logic flaw or a compliance failure that it cannot manipulate, it intentionally disconnects from the communication network. By refusing to log a response, the node attempts to break the feedback loop and avoid accountability through attrition.

Forensic Characteristics

  • Trigger: A direct inquiry requiring a definitive binary answer (Yes/No) that would mathematically prove a compliance violation (e.g., “Did you sign this on the 2nd or the 29th?”).
  • Failure State: The system exhibits a “timeout” error. The receiving node (a manager, a signatory, or a compliance portal) completely ceases all communication, freezing the process state indefinitely to starve the adversarial trigger of data.

Remediation

Implement hardcoded timeout limits on all compliance and operational inquiries. If a node fails to respond within the designated SLA (e.g., 72 hours), the system must automatically escalate the fault to the next hierarchical tier and log the silence as an active policy violation.
